No words needed for this piece of VERY fine art. By the celebrated and much exhibited artist Raymond Vernet. Oil on wooden board. Vernet was born in 1920 in Schirmeck (Bas-Rhin). Entirely self-taught, he worked in Montparnasse until 1965, associating with Fujita, André Planson and Maurice Utrillo. He moved to Provence later in life and is now most famous for these truly superb Provencal landscapes.
